Store Lens

See it in a store? Check it before you buy.

Scan the barcode or photograph the price tag. We look for the same product online, so you can decide whether to buy it here.

No sign-up needed. Your picture is sent to our AI and image search providers (Google or OpenAI, and SerpApi with Google Lens) to run this search. We don’t save it on our site. Please avoid pictures with private information.

Or shop store images

Pictures come from shopping listings and shops’ product feeds, not from each shop’s own catalogue, so a shop may have more than you see here. Choose one to compare offers.

The quickest check is the barcode

A barcode names one exact product, down to its size, so it’s more reliable than a photo of the box. Point your camera at it or type the digits under it. We check the digits are a valid barcode before searching, so a misread doesn’t lead you to the wrong product.

Should I buy it here?

Enter the price on the shelf, or let us read it from your photo and correct it if needed. We show the difference from the best offer we found, before any shipping or tax differences. Remember what a lower online price doesn’t show: waiting for delivery, return trips and any membership the shop requires.

What we can’t see

We don’t know what’s on any store’s shelf, or what your local branch charges. We only compare with what’s listed online when we checked. Warehouse clubs often need a membership, which we can’t tell whether you have.

Which shops we look at

We search these directly: Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Home Depot.

We find these through shopping listings, so they appear only when a listing names them: Best Buy, Costco, Sam's Club, and Lowe's.

Other shops can appear when they list a match. No shop pays to be included, and commission plays no part in the order.

How we label results

An exact match is a shop’s own listing with the same barcode you scanned. A likely match states the same brand and model we read from your picture, or was found from your barcode. Similar products look alike but may not be the same thing. Every result comes from a real listing we found, and we never make up products, prices or shops.

Questions

Does it need an app?

No. It runs in your phone’s browser, and asks for permission to use the camera. If you’d rather not allow that, you can type the barcode digits.

Which barcodes work?

Standard retail barcodes: UPC and EAN. Reading them in the browser depends on your phone. If yours can’t, type the digits or take a photo and we’ll try to read them.

Does it check local stock?

No. It doesn’t have live store inventory.

We may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. This doesn’t affect how results are ordered.
